The visit of the submarine (alone or package) is limited thus it is possible that upon arrival of a group, place will not be available. A waiting time is possible.

• 1 free admission for groups of 15 to 30 people.
• 2 free admissions for groups of over 30 people.

The Canadian Submarine ONONDAGA was in service from 1967 to 2000. Upon entering the ship you will discover the daily life of some sixty men who lived there for months at a time confined in a submarine of 90 metres. You can also examine its complex mechanical engineering and the technologies used for submarine detection. The self-guided visit will plunge you into a fascinating and unknown world. It is also possible to spend an evening and a night aboard to live the experience of a submariner !

Note !

• Certain apparatus may still have oil on the surface. Be careful. We do not pay for soiled clothing.
• As space is limited, avoid wearing a backpack in the submarine.
• Children must always be accompanied by an adult.

This pavilion houses one of the two ticket outlets on the site.

You can also discover the « The Treasures of the Empress of Ireland », a permanent exhibition presenting the greatest collection of objects from the Empress of Ireland as well as telling the history of the ship from its construction to its sinking in 1914.

The 3D projection « S.O.S Empress of Ireland » completes the exhibition. Go to the ticket outlet to purchase a ticket reserving your place for the projection.

This visit is carried out with a guide per group of 15 people. The staircase leading to the top of the lighthouse has 128 steps. People suffering from high blood pressure or cardiac problems should abstain.

The Empress of Ireland exhibit also offers to all kids the occasion to know Emmy, the cat from the ship. Emmy is present throughout the course of the exhibit. It interacts with the children in order to make them discover the secrecies of this splendid steamer. Very captivating, Emmy will make them spend good moments.

In the Workshop, the kids are invited to participate in a play activity consisting in dressing a costume imitating that of an aqualung and to go through an itinerary inside a module recalling the wreck of Empress of Ireland. Will they succeed in baring his secret?

The young ones will be able to play games in the boat while taking a breath of the saline air of the river.
